Caritas Madagascar

Caritas Madagascar traces its origins to 1947, when an antenna of SECATHO was established in Madagascar, one year after SECATHO's own founding. Following the floods of April 1959, Secours Catholique de Madagascar became Vonjy Aina Katolika. On 9 December 1961, following ordinance 60-133 of 3 October 1960 governing private associations, the Malagasy organization was officially created under the name Secours Catholique de Madagascar / Vonjy Aina Katolika. Since then, it has gone through several stages of restructuring to become the charitable organization it is today.
